On the 27th of November 1877 in the aristocratic Bhagat family of Tellicherry in Kerala was born a baby boy who was to be in future, the object of worship and adoration of the Divine Mother of the universe. The child was named Sree Krishna. The family was very well to do and the child was brought up in the manner of the landlords of that time. He received the best of education and went to Madras for further studies.There, he graduated from the Madras University.
In spite of his western education, Sree Bhagawan had great reverence for Hindu traditions. He was a votary of the Gayatri mantra. By nature he was fond of discipline and when he set up his own home, he wanted it to be run with clockwork precision.
Although he was indrawn and of a serious demeanour, his heart was full of compassion for the less fortunate members of society. Charity was inborn in him. Never did he send away anyone empty handed. He was well known for his charity and benevolence. He contributed liberally to several religious and social institutions. His donations helped poor students to pursue their studies and several orphans found shelter due to his munificient aid. He financed the digging of tanks and wells for the public and even surrendered several acres of prime land to the government for use as pasture grounds for cattle. But all this was done silently and unostentatiously, very often unknown to his family members and friends. He would often say that the left hand should not know what the right hand is giving! His large heartedness endeared him to all and made him an object of their reverence.
Although Shri Bhagawan was a rich landlord and a banker he lived a simple life and never made a show of his wealth.
At the age of 48, Sree Bhagawan entered into wedlock with Divine Mother in obedience to a divine command. During the wedding ceremony, Divine Mother had a vision wherein She beheld Herself as Devi Parvathy garlanding Lord Shiva. This itself throws light on the identity of Sree Bhagawan.
Right from the day of the wedding Sree Bhagawan felt that Mother was not an ordinary girl but an angel of purity. As the days passed he found Her to be detached from wealth and possessions and to be devoid of any worldly desires. Slowly, Her divinity began to unfold before him. He also saw in Her his own chosen deity, Lord Krishna. Then onwards his life was one of complete surrender to Divine Mother, who he began to consider as his own mother. He would encourage Mother to visit Her devotees in various places to uplift them and was content to remain in the background. But Divine Mother would accord him all the reverence due to a divine being. The devotees too began to realize his spiritual stature and paid their respects to him. He was mostly in silence but had a fatherly smile and blessing for those who bowed to him. The detachment from worldly matters and his withdrawal into his own supreme state of silent contemplation was a pointer to his true nature as Lord Shiva, the consort of the Divine Mother, Parashakti.
In 1964, on the 23rd of April, Sree Bhagawan merged in Divine Mother.
